Obituary for Alice Lillian Blackburn

Alice Lillian Krenz Blackburn, age 96, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on Thursday, April 15, 2021. She was born in the Town of Omro at her family home on March 9, 1925. She was born the daughter of Lillian and George Krenz. She graduated at the top of her Omro High School Class. On June 5, 1948 she married Joseph Blackburn at their dairy farm near Rush Lake. Alice was a licensed breeder of Brown American Water Spaniels and Dachshunds. She was a life-long conservationist and spent her life preserving wildlife, wildlife habitat, hunting, fishing, birding, and gardening. Learning every day was very important to her and you could find her reading any book she could find.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Mary Blackburn-Langeberg and son-in-law Howard Langeberg; grandchildren: Rebecca Lewellyn-Beckmann and husband David Beckmann, Jarrod Blackburn, Dillon Blackburn, Brittany Blackburn and bonus granddaughter, Erin (Langeberg) Schoonover; and great-grandchildren: Tristin and Caleb Blackburn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Blackburn; son, Jed Blackburn; parents; Lillian (Peterson) and George Krenz; and brother, Frederick “Fritz” Krenz.

A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery, Pickett.

She will be missed by all.
