Obituary for Alice Mae Dwyer (Klossowski)
Alice Mae (nee Klossowski) Dwyer, age 91, of Waukau WI, was taken into the loving arms of our Lord on October 10, 2019. She was born September 21, 1928, the fifth child of Roman and Mildred (nee Hall) Klossowski.
She married the love of her life, Edward A. Dwyer, on December 21, 1963. They were blessed with 28 years of marriage until his death in 1991.
Alice worked for 13 years at Allen Bradley in Milwaukee, where she and Ed met, before retiring. She and Ed then made their home in Arbor Vitae (Woodruff) for 21 years. Together they cut wood, fished, and did a lot of canning, always working side by side.
After Ed’s death, Alice moved to Waukau to be near her sister Olive “Ollie” Hoeft.
Alice and Ollie made numerous afghans for family and friends and loved to knit booties for newborns, donating them to the area hospitals. Alice also made the best potholders you could ever want. She was always fun-loving and quick-witted.
She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Church of Omro for the past 24 years and absolutely loved Sister Pam. She had also been the sexton of the Waukau Cemetery for 17 years.
Alice is survived by her nephews, Eric (Patty) Klossowski, Jay (Pam) Klossowski of Oconomowoc, and Dave (Mary Ann) Cresca of Palmyra; nieces, Shirley Karas of Colorado, Jan (Jerry) Casey of Franklin, Kathy (Dan) Casey of Greendale and numerous great nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her “daughter,” Connie (Tom) Schuster of Omro and Alice’s special friend, Jim Schoonover.
Alice was preceeded in death by two very special nephews, John Karas and Jerry Casey, her husband Ed, her parents, and her siblings, Wally and Gordon Klossowski, Olive Hoeft, and Vivian Kresca.
As per her wishes there will be a celebration of life at St. Mary’s Church in Omro with Sister Pam and Father Tom officiating on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with service beginning at 11:00 am. Alice will be buried at Waukau Cemetery after services are held.
Alice would like to thank all her friends and family, especially Connie Schuster, who’s always been like a daughter, Gwen Jessen, whom always took her to church every week, and Sister Pam, for always being a great friend.
She would also like to thank her neighbors, Jeff and Jill Schoonover, Peg, Eric and Jodi Wrage and family, for taking care of “Fang,” her cat, Jim Wesner for always being her handy man, and Vicki Behm, whom always helped whenever Alice needed anything.
We would like to thank all the loving, caring and amazing staff at Country Villa in Omro for all the great care Alice received while she was there. We could not have found a better place to make her so happy. She said she brought life into the place and all the staff called her room “the party room.” They also nicknamed her “Sassy Pants.” We would like to thank Generations Hospice, whom we couldn’t have done without. What a great group of amazing people.
