Obituary for Lorenzo C. Bosquez

Lorenzo C. Bosquez
It is with great sadness that the family of Lorenzo C. Bosquez announces his unexpected passing on Friday, November 17th, 2017. Lorenzo was born on December 16th, 1940 in Sugarland, Texas to the late Jesus and Concha (Carillo) Bosquez. A casual visit to see one of his brothers in Wisconsin brought Lorenzo into the life of Rosemary Leckner of Oshkosh, whom he married on September 7th, 1965. Together they raised four much loved children of their own, and had a hand in various ways, in the upbringing of many more!
Much of Lorenzo’s adult life was spent working in auto parts sales, and in true Lorenzo fashion he made it a priority to be the best at what he did.
Lorenzo enjoyed life and had many interests that included: hunting, fishing, playing the lottery or playing his guitar. You would not have ever been surprised to walk into the house and find him sitting in his favorite chair watching a political program, an old western or sports-his all-time favorite team being the Dallas Cowboys!
If you had ever had the pleasure of knowing Lorenzo, you would know that he was a complex man with a heart larger than could simply be described by words. He was a caregiver and peacemaker. You would surely have heard a story about one of his children, grand/great-grandchildren or one of his nieces or nephews; he was so full of PRIDE that it literally emanated from him! If you had known him a bit longer you would have heard stories about the mischievous childhood adventures he had with his siblings and cousins while growing up in Texas. If it is said that “You define what is important to you by what you dedicate your time to”, what was important to Lorenzo was family! It didn’t matter in what way you were family, if you needed him for anything he would be there. To say that he was a superhero of sorts to the people whose lives he had an effect on would surely be an understatement.
Lorenzo will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, Rosemary Bosquez, his children: Anna Bosquez, Carol (Carl) Sterken, Michael (Nicole) Bosquez, son-in law- Raymond Smith, and “adopted” daughter Suzanne Dibble Heatwole; grandchildren: Kyle and Kendall Roberts; Heather (Adam Tanner) Smith and Zachary Smith; Lakyn, Taryn, Kaden and Gensyn Bosquez; Hannah and Ella Heatwole; great grandchildren: Katrina Roberts; Carson and Brody Tanner. Lorenzo is also survived by his sisters: Carmen (Johnny) Cabello, Ernestine Bosquez, and Mary Ann (Johnny) Garcia and his brother Manuel (Rosa) Bosquez as well as many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Lorenzo was greeted at Heaven’s gate by the loved ones that passed before him: his father and mother: Jesus and Concha Bosquez, sister: Rosa Bosquez, brothers: John, Rosendo and Ignacio Bosquez, and his beloved daughter LeAnn Smith and grandson Brandon Smith.
A funeral service for Lorenzo will take place at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home in Omro on Friday, November 24th at 4:00pm with Lorenzo’s nephew David Bosquez officiating. A time of visitation will take place at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Lorenzo’s family would like to thank the Omro and Winneconne first responders and the Omro Police Department, especially Chief Joe Schuster, for their care and assistance during and following Lorenzo’s last moments.
It is hard to forget someone that gave you so much to remember, we will be eternally grateful for the blessing that you were to all of our lives!
