Obituary for Martin Lynn "Willie" Moldenhauer

Martin L. “Marty” “Willie” Moldenhauer, age 58, passed away peacefully in the loving presence of his family, Friday morning, February 2, 2018, at Park View Health Center. He was born on March 17, 1959, in Oshkosh, the son of Vernon “Butch” and Julie Ann (Ellis) Moldenhauer. Willie was raised in Omro and lived in the surrounding area his whole life.
In his youth, Willie obtained the standing of Eagle Scout. He was tapped into the brotherhood of the Order of the Arrow, having earned 21 merit badges and the GOD and COUNTRY medal. He really enjoyed school and excelled at it. Even though he was legally blind most of the time, through God’s Divine Grace, he was fortunate to excel at sports. He sometimes pondered how well he would have done with better eyesight. Willie achieved the status of Journeyman Carpenter through the technical college while working for Moldenhauer Construction. Later, he was employed at Bemis Converter Films. Early in life Willie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and lived with the effects of it for 48 years and 6 months.
Survivors include his two children, Abby Rose (fiancé, Taylor Bahn) Prall and Michael Henry Moldenhauer; a grandson, Logan Prall; his parents, Butch and Julie Moldenhauer; two sisters, Traci (David) Morrison and Piper Moldenhauer; a niece, Justine (Caleb) Roesler; a nephew, Seth Morrison; a great-niece, Avonlea Roesler; his childhood and best friend, Mark Wirch; and his special friend, Rita Mueller. Willie was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Moldenhauer.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., in Omro. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held from 10:00 a.m. until Mass time at the church. Memorials to the MS Society in Willie’s memory would be appreciated.
Willie would like to thank God for sending the many angels, keeping him safe and guiding him during his challenging times. Of all the Angels, Willie knew the names of 14 Named Angels and 11 Named Patron Saints.
Thank you to all the Nurses, CNAs, and other staff at Park View Health Center. We truly appreciate you taking great care of Marty. Thank you to the Wisconsin Chapter of the MS Society for their help. Thanks also to God for sending my venerated Patron Saints and my two named spirit guides. “Alleluia, it’s over.”
