Obituary for Sadonna Lee Gurley (Potratz)

Sadonna Lee Gurley (Potratz)
Sadonna L. (Potratz) Gurley, age 74, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at ThedaCare-Neenah. She was born on July 1, 1943, in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late Victor and Margret (Wilkie) Potratz.
She resided for several years in Southern California, where she married, working for Marie Callender’s Restaurant. Sadonna returned to Wisconsin in 2002 for six years before moving to Las Vegas. She returned again to Wisconsin in 2016.
Sadonna was a loving and gracious lady. She always cherished her family and friends, welcoming visits from both, never failing to ask about children and grandchildren, their lives and accomplishments. Sadonna was outstanding in her ability to see the good in everyone, to always say kind words about anyone she knew, having the patience to endure the hardships of life and recognizing humor in everyday things. Time spent with Sadonna was a good time and always ended with a hug and “I love you.” She considered her friendships at Omro Care Center as a second family, very dear to her, especially the Bingo group. The ladies named her “Miss Fashionista” because of the style of her clothing and her hair.
Survivors include a daughter, Shonna Gurley; two grandsons, Nathan and John; her six brothers, V. Jay (Nancie) Potratz, Anthony (Vicki) Potratz, Nathan (Sharon) Potratz, Sidney (Carol) Potratz, Renny (Nancy) Potratz, and Lonny (Cheryl) Potratz; her sister, Brenda (Tom) Ellis; a sister-in-law, Jo Potratz; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Sadonna in death are her parents; a brother, Daniel Potratz; a sister-in-law, Mary Potratz; and her former mother-in law and father-in-law.
Private family services will be held. Sadonna’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Omro Care Center for the loving care and compassion shown to her during her stay.
