Obituary for Hazel Mack (Garschke)
Hazel C. Mack, age 92, formerly of Omro, passed away Tuesday morning, May 22, 2018, at Oak Park Place in Wauwatosa. Born on May 28, 1925, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Christian and Olga (Lewitzke) Garschke, Hazel married William Mack on May 11, 1946, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage until Bill’s death on December 12, 2006.
She was employed as a clerk with Empire Brass and Aluminum Foundry of Milwaukee, in the guidance systems department for missiles, General Motors, was a Purchasing Agent for Hytek of Oak Creek, and a Real Estate Agent for Century 21 until her retirement.
Hazel was an active member of her community. She was a member of Kiwanis, West Homemakers Club of Omro, 20 Century Club, AmVets Auxiliary Post #7, Postscript of Oshkosh, and Women’s Division of the Chamber of Commerce in Oshkosh.
Survivors include a son, Tom (Sharon) Mack of Greendale; four grandchildren, Michele Weckwerth, Jolene Witczak, Chris Mack, and Tim Mack; two great-grandchildren, Kiera and Riley Witczak; other relatives and many friends. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Sandra Weckwerth, two sisters, Ruth and Joyce, and an infant brother, Howard.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in Kwiatkowski Funeral Home, 425 Jefferson Ave., Omro, with Reverend Timothy Greenwald officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Omro Cemetery following the services.
