Obituary for Kenneth Myron Amundson

Kenneth Myron  Amundson
Kenneth M. Amundson, age 89, of Omro, died Monday afternoon, August 6, 2018, at Aurora Medical Center. Born on April 13, 1929, the son of Burger and Myrna (Jungwirth) Amundson, Ken married Bernice Schumde on August 6, 1950, in Winneconne and she preceded him in death on July 14, 2015.
Employed as a commercial roofer for most of his working life, Ken was a passionate fisherman. He was a member of Winneconne Bass Club, where he was a Past President. Ken was an U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War, and a member of Oshkosh VFW Post 1908.
Survivors include his children, Faith (Tom Wright) Miller, Diana (James) Ludwig, Jeff Amundson, Brian Amundson, Tim Amundson, and Lynn (Robert) Eckstein; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Richard (Myra) Amundson, Donald Amundson, Louise Lee, Doloris Dumke, and June (Joe) Dumbroski; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, a son, Michael Amundson, his parents, and several siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in Kwiatkowski Funeral Home, 425 Jefferson Ave., Omro, Wisconsin. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 Noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the services at the Omro Cemetery where full Military Honors will be given.
